The Baby Fold Announces New Venue for the 2013 Festival of Trees

Holiday Festival will be held November 21-24, 2013

BLOOMINGTON, IL – The Baby Fold has selected a new venue for the annual Festival of Trees celebration.  The 2013 Festival will be hosted at the Interstate Center (Mini Expo and West Expo Buildings) at 1106 Interstate Drive in Bloomington and will be held November 21-24, 2013, The Festival of Trees is the single largest fundraising event of the year for The Baby Fold earning a total of nearly $2 million for the organization over the last 19 years.

“Every few years we reevaluate our efforts and processes to ensure we’re maximizing our potential to raise critical funds for The Baby Fold,”  said Julie Payne, Vice President of Development and Public Relations. “We determined there are several factors which contribute heavily to the success of this event including cost, space, ease of access for guests, parking, among others.  After careful review, we found the Interstate Center buildings are better suited to our needs.

“The U.S. Cellular Coliseum has been a tremendous partner in hosting the Festival of Trees for the last three years and we are thankful for their continued commitment to the success of the Festival and The Baby Fold.”

The Festival of Trees is the premier holiday family event in the Bloomington/Normal community and raises not only dollars, but awareness around the needs of the children and families served by the organization. In 2012 more than 8,000 guests visited the Festival which raised $152,000 to support critical programs provided by The Baby Fold.

Anderson Ford Shares 15 Trees from the Festival 0

You are invited December 7, 2011 from 6-8 pm to celebrate the holiday with Anderson Ford in Clinton, Illinois

Earlier this month we were talking with Randy Anderson  and learned that over they years they have purchased 19 trees at the Festival of Trees.

This year, they have decided to share the beauty with the community!

“Ann and I can’t remember exactly what year we started buying trees but we think it’s around 2005.  We have purchased a total of 19.  Two of those we have given away.“

This year, Anderson Ford will have 15 of those trees on display in the dealership.

“We have tried to keep all the themes together.  Because it is to amazingly beautiful when we turn out all the lights many of us just stop for 3-5 minutes before we go home to look because it is so spectacular.   We have decided this year on Wednesday, December 7th we are going to close at 6, and invite the public to walk thru the dealership and have cookies and hot chocolate for our guests from 6-8.“

They will have the trees on display after Thanksgiving through the first of the year.

Here is a link to the pictures from last year and more details on this year.  http://www.anderson-ford.com/news/-showroom-of-trees-.htm

Thank you to Anderson Ford for their continued support of The Baby Fold and The Festival of Trees!

Ho Ho Ho! If Santa Is Bringing You New Tools, We’d Love Your Old Ones! 0

Every year we transform a location into a winter wonderland for a few days.  We call that transformation Festival of Trees, but it takes a lot more than trees to pull off the transformation!

What you might not know is that there is a lot of construction that happens.  Stages are built; storefronts are erected; signs are posted; walls are put up and a lot more!

Every year, we find that we are in search for tools to make this happen.  It would be fantastic if we could have some working tools that stay with the festival from year to year.

If Santa brings you some new tools this year, we’d love for you to consider donating your older-yet-working tools to Festival!

We are always in need of

  • Cordless Drills
  • Cordless Screwdrivers
  • Ladders
  • Hammers
  • etc.

If you have tools that you would like to donate, just contact us via our web form and someone from the committee will be in contact with you.

Ladies Luncheon Was a Hit with Lots of Laughter and Fun 0

Balancing Life In Style, Presented by Advocate BroMenn Medical Center – Women’s Event & Luncheon

Women from all over came to enjoy a ladies luncheon presented by Advocate BroMenn Medical Center.

The event started with a non-traditional style show.  Rather than the catwalk, models walked from table to table showing guests their outfits from Macy’s, Cato and Karen’s Kloset.  The models were accessorized with jewelry from J&B Custom Jewelry.

Featured speaker and humorist Kathleen Passanisi, PT, CSP, CPAE had everyone (even the men that were walking around looking at trees) laughing together at daily circumstances and enjoying the challenge to create a more balanced lifestyle.

Thank you to Carissa Haning of Heart & Seoul Photography for the pictures of the women enjoying the show.
